I'm just gonna leave this here... I was messing around with a couple of socket A machines (KT880 vs nforce 2) and produced an unusual score, then came across this thread, and tough i should share.
No CPU-Z screenshot but I will make one tomorrow. Specs are:
Athlon 3200+ 2200Mhz stock voltage, stock clocks, thermltake volcano
Epox 8RDA3+ nforce 2 ultra motherboard
2x512MB Geil DDR400 @ 2.5.3.3.5
Sapphire Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB, stock clocks
Windows XP SP3
Catalys 4.5
3DMark 2001
Pretty high score for stock everything. Tomorrow I'm going to go for 2400MHz, this chip has an unlocked multi and that's about as high as it will go on air. I'm also considering dropping in my 3850 AGP, but I don't think that will increase the score much more since 3850 AGP drivers I've found score pretty poorly in 3dmark01

We will see you tomorrow with CPU-Z. The current top 3Dmark score here is with a 3850.

If you use the provided bracket that goes around the pipe it might line up with the holes with the two metal brackets that are used on the holes on the motherboard.
supercordo, random question. Do you have a 3D printer?

Havent had a chance to get one yet.

No problem. I think my only option is to do a 3D print of the motherboard 462 brackets in ABS and try replicate the original brackets. A lot easier if you have the original brackets in front of you for measuring when designing in the 3D software.

Might be easier to mod a newer cpu block to fit the socket 462 holes.
Seems you could get a cpu block like this and just drill some holes to match socket 462.
Holy cow is a working Zalman Reserator 1 that rare? I guess depends on how period correct you want to be.
That thing was a waste of money when it was new. Looks like he posted it on ebay because his wife made him but he doesnt really wanna get rid of it.
Ahoy there.. busy weekend. Got to pull the screenshot from the machine from last week, I did put the poor Tbred 2400 on my A7N8X for a quick ride, resulted in 19k points.
Glad to see this thread is getting a lot more movement 😁
My newest guineapig has arrived as well, an Athlon XP-M 2400 Barton.

I benched my XP-M with an 9800XT, 800XT and 1950Pro - the score definitely increased in a significant manner. So you should get a substantial increase in points when you switch from a 9800Pro to HD3850.

What driver version are you guys using for the 3850 AGP?

Excellent! I bought one. Probably better than the home-made water block I made way back in the day and ended up splitting an Athlon into 3 pieces because I tightened it down too much.
Glad my doom scrolling on ebay is helping people! haha
