After 38 years, Grand Prix Circuit, a 2.5D racing game by DSI and Accolade, got an expansion pack with new cars and new tracks.

You can download it on my site:

Is there any DOS that works with Unix newlines?
MS-DOS 7.10 evidently doesn't...

I know there's plenty of ways to fix that.
But I would rather not struggle with some half-baked product...

this half-baked product is provided free of charge though 🙄

@bodo thank you for this! I also played this game a lot back in the day, I had great fun with it and the handling was so much better than Test Drive 1 😀

DOSBox works with them quite fine, which is why I did not notice the issue. The bug is now fixed.

Thank you guys! Yes, the car handling in TD1 was a struggle, with a keyboard you could not accelerate/brake and steer at the same time. GPC is so much more fluid! DSI was very good at iterating on their products, keeping what worked and removing the pain points. Which is probably why they are still in business after 40 years (now under the name of EA Vancouver)

OK, works fine on a Pentium III 800, with Intel graphics.

But it totally fails on the following machine:

The attachment 1.png is no longer available
The attachment 2.png is no longer available

Both are running MS-DOS 7.10, and I've even tried bypassing CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT.
GPCGA.EXE and GPEGA.EXE work fine, but GPEGA2.BAT immediately hangs - sometimes with black screen, sometimes with garbage, sometimes the monitor goes into power saving mode.

I may try replacing the graphics when I have more time...

No, I would not suggest spending time on that attempt. It might be that the BIOS implements int 10h in a different way, so that the TSR hooking misfunctions. Or that, for whatever reason, GPEGA lays out its data in a different way on that machine so that when my mod patches them it turns out garbage.
