I've tried using DOSbox on my Vista partition, and it works up to the installation of the game but always crashes.

Now I'm trying to use DOSbox on OS X, and it's completely different from the Vista version.

I can't mount my cdrom or anything else for that matter. Can anyone provide a step by step description of how I can install this on OS X?

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too). The 2nd page is for Mac OS X.

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

If you don't like dosbox, go buy the macintosh version of the game from Blizzard.

For me, that's the kind of comments you can keep to yourself, franpa, thankyouverymuch. The OP didn't say anything at all about not liking DOSBox, so your comment is silly and pointless.

Anyway, Mr. Solita1re: I've played the game in DOSBox 0.72 (Win XP) some time ago, and it worked perfectly. Check out the guide(s) MiniMax has linked to, they should help. If there was a general DOSBox bug with WCII we'd definitely know by now, as WCII is one of the most-played DOS games, i believe.

If you're a fan of WCII, you should check out "Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition". It has quite a lot of gameplay enhancements, and should be easier to install and run than the DOS version.
