Not a fan of prebuilts (and I hate the Optiplexes with all my soul after handling tech support for ~ 100 Optiplex workstations in the past), but it’s a nice retro PC overall.

However, is it me, or does this feel like a selling ad?

100% agree with you, I cannot understand why some people have the desire for prebuilts. Dell, HP, IBM, Gateway etc all remind me of work. They are disgusting and should be banned from being mentioned on Vogons 🤮 🤣
