Hi everyone, its me again!

I’d like to introduce DOSGAME.AT, a preservation project focused on original DOS games.

Rather than collecting existing cracks or old scene releases, our goal is to create new, original preservation work. Whenever possible, every loader, patch and technical solution is developed from scratch after analysing the original game.

We have recently relaunched the project with a complete redesign and overhaul - yes the design is made to also attract younger gamers. 😉

Our work includes:

* newly written universal loaders
* compatibility improvements for modern DOSBox installations while still working on original DOS
* support for multiple original releases (Floppy, GOG, language variants)

One recent example is our research into Strip Poker Professional.

The encrypted expansion content for the CD-ROM editions had effectively been lost for decades. By combining earlier preservation efforts from the community with our own reverse engineering, we reconstructed the protection system and produced the first working unlock solution. We also documented the complete history behind the protection mechanism and how it originally worked.

Besides publishing the tools themselves, we are building a library of newly researched technical articles covering forgotten copy protections, development stories and historical software preservation. This is not quite there yet, the website is still Beta and I‘m doing this in my spare time.

The project is aimed at owners of the original games and people interested in DOS preservation and reverse engineering.
