Hi all, I was trying to play X-Wing last night on my 486 and I kept getting a crash when using any setting with digital voice. Other games use it just fine but x-wing would always crash. I could use adlib audio and it played fine , or no sound at all played fine.

I was using a Media Vision Jazz 16 which has great sound and works fine in every other game I tried so far.

I then tried a Vibra 16 and that was even worse.
I tried an awe 64 value but it seems that card is just dead.

I was hoping i could get the jazz 16 working as I really like the card, but does it just not work with X-Wing. This is the original Floppy version.

Do you have EMS?
Show your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT...

In 2003, I voted in favour of joining the European Union. However, due to later developments - especially the restrictions on cash usage - I have withdrawn my support. DOWN WITH THE EU!

I have EMS, im not home at the moment to copy and paste it, but the EMS was perfectly fine, more than enough. I was using EMS RAM
At the moment the JAzz is not in the sy stem, I tried another 2 cards , the vibra 16 and then the awe 64 , I will reinstall the jazz later tonight and try again. Or I might try to find an extra SB 16 lying around , im sure i have one

I ended up swapping out the jazz 16 for a sounblaster 16. Its working great now, but I almost want to put the jazz back in to see if it was a configuration issue rather than a compatibility issue....
