I was wondering why oh why IE6 constantly crashed explorer.exe when trying to enter the Milliways forum....
100% CPU, everything hanging... 🙁
Meaning I had to resort to Firefox to see what was going on... as the other forums worked fine.....
What is this viral code you've subjected us to, I wonder 😜
I only see this: sıɥʇ ǝʞıן ǝdʎʇ oʇ ʍoɥ uɹɐǝן oʇ ʇuɐʍ noʎ ɟı
Not sure what it's made of, or what the point is, but....
Someone feeling my pain may clue me in... ?
- right, no more Milliways for me then....
you blame us for a crappy browser ?
Haha
Water flows down the stream
How to ask questions the smart way!
Funny, I have IE and it doesn't hang for me.
And I asked if MiniMax was having a hangover. Or you could have asked bestemor about what I wrote, since Norwegian isn´t that far away from Danish. And well, there is only one letter between grandmother in Danish and in Norwegian. bedstemor is the Danish spelling , of grandmother.
😊
Well then - telling you guys I'm on Win98FE probably wont help my cause much either, I guess... ?
Hanging hangovers aside, I still have no clue as to what this post 'really' is about ?
Someone mentioned 'fonts', all _I_ see, are those letters and symbols, just gibberish...
So, anyone willing to shed a light on this one ?
Perhaps even a jpg screenshot of the 'real' thing, heh 😳 ?
.
Here you go
HAHA! NOOW I get it.....!
'hang over'.... heh.... 😁
On behalf of all us browser impaired - THANKYOU verry mucho mr bugs_bugger !!
kjærleg helsing fra bestemor...
(even though the topic _still_ rules out using IE6 on Milliways.. bah, I'll live)
Not necessarily IE's fault, more likely the lack of Unicode support on a decade-old OS.
I'm sure if they used Opera or Firefox 2 they would be fine...
Yes, it’s my fault.

Check all the add-ons and everything third party you have installed in your Internet Explorer 6. Even better will be to upgrade to IE7. 😉
Your crashes are strange actually. I have been using Internet Explorer 7 on my Vista Ultimate for almost a year and a half already. I have about 3 logged crashes and 3 unlogged crashes in total. IE7 on Vista simply does not crash any more, provided you do not bloat your system with every single toolbar and addon that you get served while browsing. 😁 Good luck.
IE7 on Windows 98? I don't think so...
1+1=10
Ahh... Windows 98...
I apologize, my mistake. 😢
Well.. then sure. install firefox...
But.. it takes triple resources.. maybe no crashes... 😖
And Windows 98.. in Internet........ in 2008.... 😳
Well..
Good luck.
The font displays like an unsupported foreign language in IE6 on my Win98 SE machine (U.S. English), but no crashes. It looks fine in Firefox 2.0.0.17 on the same machine.

A good hardware firewall, software firewall and using FireFox 3 it should be fairly secure. (As long as nothing stupid is done).
Aren't there heaps of buffer overflow vulnerabilities in 98SE?
