Lotus 3 is one of my favorite old school DOS racing games. One limitation that always bothered me is the fact that you can't enable music + sfx together. You either select a music track, which disables sound effects, or select no music to hear the sound effects. I created this patch to enable both working together. It currently works only with Sound Blaster setting (I'll try to get Roland working later if I get a chance).

Please note that this is the original lotus 3 dat file. If you need to apply the speed sensitivity patch, you will need to apply it on top of this new dat file.

Nice, it really works!

I have version with lotus.dat which is 1 337 856 bytes and your version is 1 265 152 bytes. Is there any significant difference between them? Is there any reason why you didn't add patch for fast CPUs to your version?

What a blast from the past. Thanks, @Tamerator. The patch works fine for SB, AdLib and PC speaker. It will be even nicer, if you can make working sound effects when Roland music is selected.

the six-colored list is growing rapidly 😀

I have this same version, and your patch therefore did not work for me.

What are the differences between the 1265152 byte and 1337856 byte versions of lotus.dat which make the patch unabe to run on the latter version?
