Where did that Pentium 4 HT go? 😁

The fun part is that this build started when I acquired this P4. But later I realized that this CPU is underpowered for the rest of the hardware, so I decided to go with a C2D instead. So this P4 is now sitting on a shelf, waiting for its time to come=)

Pentium 4 would be too close to that Sempron. Core 2 Duo 2.6Ghz is much faster, although it will get in big trouble in Vista era (2007-2009). Good until 2006. Vista era is very demanding and needs about 3.2Ghz dual core.

Pentium III 900E,ECS P6BXT-A+,384MB,GeForce FX 5600, Voodoo 2,Yamaha SM718
Turion 64 MT-40@2.4Ghz,Gigabyte GA-K8NE,2GB,GeForce GTX 275,Audigy 2ZS
Phenom II X4 965,Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3,8GB,GeForce GTX 780

This P4 is one of the latest from 2006, 3,2 Ghz, so I think it is much faster then Sempron from 2004. Anyway, there is not much sense to build it.

Upgraded 2004 TIE Fighter build with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2. The sound card had a well-known issue with crackling sound, so I had to replace some of the caps.

I used four Nichicon UHE1E470MDD.

After the recap, the crackling issue was solved, but I had some problems installing the drivers. After a few attempts with different driver versions, this issue was also resolved. For now, the Audigy works fine, and EAX is also working.

If you don't mind Nick4, I'm mostly sound card illiterate.

Are there any special considerations when selecting replacement caps for cards like a Sound Blaster 16 CT4170, or an AWE64 Gold CT4390?

Sorry, I'm not an expert either. I found info about fixing my Audigy here - Audigy 2 ZS Crackle Fix
