Current price of 370 Pin socket is about $10 USD from what I've seen not including shipping, tax, etc.

afaik PCBWay charges $0.05 per tht wave soldered pin = ~$20 just for soldering the socket

this is a sponsored product so likely there is a discount here

Discussing someone else's product pricing is certainly interesting, but ultimately pointless.
It costs whatever it costs.

Hey everyone!.

Q: .

How did you work around the 25mV/VID4 signal issue?
On Mendocino, it's needed for 2+ volt supply, while on Tualatins, it's present on certain models.
I have a 1.475V Pentium III, which means the signal on this pin is active.
Given that in some (or most?) PWM controllers VID signals aren't latched but change dynamically, a CPU like this will request 2.3V at boot.

By default, VID4 is grounded. This way, anything above 2.05v is disabled. There is a 0 ohm resistor on the PCB that can be removed if one really wants to mess with overclocking and higher voltages, but you have to remove that resistor.

Manual Voltage Selection:
There are four jumpers for voltage selection on the HAWK 370. For Mendocino and Coppermine, you could set those jumpers to AUTO and use the CPU defaults (they don't use VID4).
Tualatin MUST be set manually using the four voltage jumpers as those chips use the new VRM8.5 instead of VRM8.4 used on most Slot 1 boards. The table for manual voltage selection is printed at the back of the PCB.

VID4 was introduced with 2.0v chips (Deschutes / Mendocino). Grounding VID4 encoded voltages below 2.1v.

BTW BUB, you know that in theory it's not impossible to create a dual socket slotket?

After 50 days of headaches getting the distances right...
Just wire one socket0 BREQ1<> socket1 BREQ0
The schematics and datasheets seem to indicate that BRQ1 is managed by CPU0

Just planting seeds....
MWUHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!

That would be wild to make any old board into SMP

Power would be a headache. You'd need to build a VRM onto it.

Might be easier to just build a board. See sig. I have more converted designs.

Is this even rarer than Tualatin slockets?

I thought IBM was born with the world

Any help on getting 440ex/lx to support up to Celeron 766MHz 66fsb cpu on one of these adapters or is it only for440bx?

Best ATi Rage3 drivers for 3DCIF / Direct3D / OpenGL / GLUT / DVD : ATi RagePro drivers and software

The PowerLeap PL-iP3 was able to work on those systems, no? If that worked on those systems, I suspect that this slotkey should handle them too. I suspect that it works fine on the 440zx & gz too.

QDI Twin Magic. This one looks like it was actually in use.

I have two generic slot->370 adapters, one of them works and it boots up with Celeron 766 and bios detects it correctly, but voltage or something else dont like it and it hangs booting to win98.
