Even though I’m eager to republish some MSX-2 tracks now that I’ve assembled the Nano Drive 7, I have to say that installing the Yamaha YM3438 on the NanoDrive 6 has made me truly satisfied with the results I’ve achieved, So this is the newly released soundtrack:

Castlevania Bloodlines - Sega Megadrive, complete soundtrack!
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_BhbJ … xe-IdDtD8M_pThN

A vision of Dark Secrets (Opening Theme)
https://youtu.be/izOa7Ljv8i4

Mysterious Curse (Password)
https://youtu.be/cEmH6LnCFrU

Recording has been done with Yamaha YM3438 chipset inside Nano Drive 6.
What do you think of the result? For the best audio quality, make sure to set the YouTube video quality to 1080p.

Every time I have to decide the starting point for recording a mod file, it feels like it’s the first time, and the beginning is always a problem. I sift through all the possible combinations to find the best possible interpolation and try out all the software. After many indecisions, the work on Crusader: No Remorse has begun.
During the first seven days, please help me with an hype on youtube.
Here are the first audio tracks:

Track 01: Menù / Main Theme
https://youtu.be/tugkqiPmPaA?si=YAp6kNpdRocMDuLN

Track 02: Mission 1

Playlist Complete:

PC Soundtrack – Mod (AMF, Asylum Music Format) File Format.
AMF file recorded through sinc interpolation using a polyphase Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter for resampling.
Individual tracks were recorded at 32-bit / 96 kHz and finally resampled to 44.1 kHz / 16-bit.
I tried to solve the "muffled sound" obtained through sinc interpolation with an exciter (the one inside Ozone), using different settings in the high-mid and high-frequency ranges.

Here is the first part (65 tracks) of the Deus Ex soundtrack. Since it's endless, I took a break and am preparing a few other soundtracks before finishing it.

Nintendo DS Soundtrack - Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (complete)!

Work in progress playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_BhbJ … nrRf9Qovif1V2fG

Each channel has been recorded from Midi Files and Soundfont generated by VGMTRans, lightly mixed.
I tried to use all the original samples, but in some cases I chose to replace some parts.

Nintendo GBA Soundtrack - Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2!

playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG88Iv5p2v8g

Recording: Real Hardware: Nintendo DS Lite
Music by Full Fat. Since all the original tracks are in mono, I did a double upload: one in mono and one version where I applied a slight stereo widening.
Even though I used a Nintendo DS Lite for recording, the distinctive lo-fi character comes from the limitations of the original hardware.

That GBA/DS Lite recording is a great example of the "real hardware vs emulated" debate in game audio preservation. The lo-fi character genuinely being a hardware artifact rather than a filter choice makes a real difference to how it sits alongside the original release. Been diving into old mod/tracker formats myself lately and it's wild how much of that character gets lost or exaggerated the moment you go through software resampling instead of the real DAC path. Subscribed, looking forward to seeing where the Deus Ex soundtrack series ends up.

I've to admit, mgba provided good result, near to the real hardware, but to my ear there were timing issue during the playback so I decided to use real hardware with an everdrive. I've to admit, when there's sappy engine, i prefear the midi+sf2 alternative.
