Since I have the famous XT clone Juko Super Turbo motherboard, I decided to write some new small DOS tools related to its chipset (VDL C1 and clones like Tamarack TD3300A, NEC 567 and Hitachi HG62E22R36FS) features. Only natural intelligence and manually written C and inline x86 assembly code were used. No "ai" involved. The tools do not work on things like 86Box, since these emulators do not have proper VDL C1 chipset emulation.

Download latest version 1.2PE

1) JSTWSS "Juko ST Wait States Setter" is a DOS tool for reading and changing the wait states values through VDL C1 chipset registers (it is partially based on JSTWSR code).

JSTWSS looks like this:

The tool is self-explanatory when "/?" or "/H" command line switch is used. If no switches are used, it only shows the current wait states by reading the chipset registers.

2) JSTTMS "Juko ST Turbo Mode Setter" is a DOS tool for reading and changing the CPU speed mode through VDL C1 chipset registers (it is based on JSTWSS code):

JSTTMS looks like this:

The tool is self-explanatory when "/?" or "/H" command line switch is used. If no switch is used, it only shows the current CPU speed mode by reading the chipset registers.

3) JSTWSR or "Juko ST Wait States Reader" is a DOS utility for reading the set wait states values from the VDL C1 chipset registers. Its functionality has been replaced by JSTWSS tool, but still included in the package.

JSTWSR looks like this:

Many thanks to @Babasha for testing JSTWSR on a real hardware!

Any feedback will be appreciated!

JSTWSS "Juko ST Wait States Setter" version 1.0 tool for reading and changing the wait states values in VDL C1 chipset (and clones like Tamarack TD3300A, NEC 567 and Hitachi HG62E22R36FS) registers released.

Added new tool JSTTMS "Juko ST Turbo Mode Setter" version 1.1 for setting CPU speed mode (turbo on, turbo off or turbo set by hardware button) through VDL C1 chipset registers. Version 1.0 was too verbose in the output, so skipped for more cleaner release.

Both JSTWSS and JSTWSR tools are updated to version 1.1. C code was cleaned and optimized "to the max" for less executable volume and more speed (on XT-class PC every byte and CPU instruction counts). Тhe only C included library functions left are STDIO.H related.

Now all Juko ST Tools are included in a single package. Download attachment is available in the first post.

Tools pack is now updated to version 1.2PE. Got rid of puts() C function, since it was replaced by smaller inline assembly code. Added a brand new DGFPL license. The output messages have been changed.
