Lately, quite a few interesting things have shown up.
1) Tabula Sonora. this is a reversed engineered implementation of SCCore.dll, which is the synth engine form Sound Canvas VA. it requires your original SCCore.dll to load the instrument data. This allows anyone who owns the product, as well as anyone who has the latest trial to use the product if they can't get the original dll working. It also allows bypassing hardware limits, and provides access to all the parts, meaning if someone makes a vst3/CLAP version, it will work nicely.
2) 88Emu. in progress low level emulation of the sc88 and later series. Getting darn good, from what I can see.
3) that mu2k project that that person was working on, and wishes to release with yamaha's blessing.
4) project similar to tabula sonora, but for s-yxg50 and it's hacked variants. Still waiting for information on that.
