Hi everyone... For last few months I was trying to get an AT3D card, box or no box, but it seems quite difficult to find. Last few days there was an auction on e-bay, and up until last 2 minutes it came to maybe $50. I thought I'll put double that at the end I should get it. However some dudes went crazy and it got sold for about $300.... Is this like usual thing that happens with such cards? Did anyone here managed to get one and... what would be normal price for such card? Thanks

$5? so Im as shocked as you are 😀
Those are garbage tier chips one would only get to larp being scammed back in the day. There was a thread here on Vogons ~1-2 years ago by someone trying the best case games and it was a horror show.
Polish auction sites have a few overpriced resellers, and even one of them wants "only" $67, and those are the type of guys charging $400 for Voodoo 2 cards.

I was one of the crazy ones bidding on it. Thought about raising my by 30 seconds before the end but decided not to. Somebody else did decide to 🙁

The reason it's worth that much in my opinion is the original packaging. It's just very rare to see that for these 'forgotten' cards.

I also bid on it, but only up to 60E. Really did't expect it to sell for that much.

Original packaging is nice indeed but I was surprised (like, hey I’ve seen that one!) that it is “just a generic” Colormax box. It’s a standard design and sometimes they add a sticker indicating its contents (i.e. VP-503 Voodoo and VP-128 Alliance AT3D).

The AT3D in question is fitted with ASD branded memory chips. I don’t recall seeing them on other graphic cards 😀.

Yeah... I was shocked as well. I mean it is mostly interesting because of how bad it is from practical point of view... but essentialy, it's a Trashware. Can you give me links to some of those polish sites?

Hahaha... The bidding party from Vogons 😀 I went last seconds for around 91E, and then disappointment followed. I mean the box did add the value but $300 is way to much for generic brand card.

For a common card like a Rage 128 (Pro) or TNT2, I wouldn't pay that much for a generic box either. But a boxed AT3D is a rarity and for that, I have no problem upping the price. If one with nicer packaging comes along later on, I'll try to buy that one too and if I get it, sell the generic one.
