Just found out that my logging into Yahoo mail on a modern browser that it has disabled the ability to use the basic email which works quite well on older devices. If you are are Yahoo mail user let them know that you don't like this new look and see if you can force them to bring back the ability to switch back to the old basic email option. I doubt such a change would be allowed by the EU but I could be wrong. Mods if this is the wrong place to post this please move it.

Be thankful you can get in, mine required an extensive irritating security validation process on every login for years then I ended up in a security recovery mode that I can’t get out of because all my accounts did it at the same time

Another needless, ridiculous forced change. Everything is slowed down by a factor of 10x (read: e-mail now takes 10x as much data to download due to scripting garbage and bloat), there is no way to go back, and you can't opt out. The awful forced inferface with its horrible rounded corners and awful wastage of space looks like kid's kook corner now.

Google pulled this shit last year, and of course no longer has any "basic" mode either.

It's becoming hopeless.

I access both yahoo mail and gmail using Seamonkey (IMAP protocol) and never use the web interface.
If you don't like Seamonkey you can also use Thunderbird or any other email client. Outlook also works.
My experience of reading and sending emails has been the same for the past 25 years and I have no reasons to complain.
Obviously, some people are forced to use the web interface, but that's another story...

Outlook also works.

That's a bold statement, considering it only sorta works part time with outlook mail.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

In the past at least, Outlook mail let you use Pop3/SMTP
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/p … for-outlook-com

BUT-- IT would frequently think "OMG SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS!" like clockwork, just using the pop3 mode. I recall it locking my account *CONSTANTLY*, until I would log in with the web portal, and tell it in no uncertain terms that NO, NOTHING IS AMISS, YOU ARE JUST STUPID. I use PGP encryption, and you cant read the message bodies. this is by design.

Its been a long time since I have tried, though. Finally got tired of their shit.

Yahoo mail in theory supports pop3 as well, but I would expect all kinds of trouble.
