Having a brand new available alternative that's also potentially better then the originals is just awesome!
Now if we could just get this gang to do a Socket 8 to Slot 1 version with various biospatches I'd be in heaven.
I know there already are new made versions, but the gatekeeping on those is just........

100% agree and to add to that….people are acting like they are just out of high school and are trying to save every dollar they can to pay for dinner. We are all mostly in our 40’s and 50’s. I think people should be able to spend money on something that makes them happy at this stage of their lives. This is a pretty cheap hobby compared to others . There people that spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on a their 4x4 hobby or drop 50k on a new JetSki. $90 or so on a slotket is not much to ask for, especially considering the amount of work that has gone into it. I would be surprised if he’s going to make more than $5 on each one sold.

+1, the price is reasonable for what it is, and probably not too far off what a slotket would have cost when they were first commercially produced adjusted for inflation

That was a joke about soldering the processor in. In reality, I'm replacing the socket, and I was wondering whether to modify it to support Tualatin or leave it in its original state.

Nobody is stopping you from getting them running on any slotket. But on the very first SSE instruction, you'll get a BSOD.
For Coppermine, you need at least a ZX.

This is specifically a chipset issue, and it cannot be fixed with any adapters or BIOS patches.

That's exactly right! If the motherboard's VRM supports 1.3 volts and the chipset is a ZX, BX, or ApolloPro133, the slotket will most likely work well with Coppermine processors.

Actually, it’s not quite as funny as it seems.
Nobody laughs at a slot version of Coppermine CPU, after all.
If were to 3D-print a sort of ‘little trough with handles’ for cooler installation, it would actually turn out to be quite a decent option.

wait, should the hawk 370 have mounting holes for Noctua? 😀
And/or LGA15xx or AM4 mounting-pattern? This would allow to use modern AIO's (might need 3d-printed spacers)

It's easy if you have cartridge holders screwed in place. I once had two pieces of eraser to hold adapter straight. Then I bought one with plastic casing.

Multiple countries use the $ symbol even though the underlying currencies are different. $200 in Canadian currency isn't the same as $200 in U.S. currency.

It's good practice to list the currency so there is no confusion.
