Thanks 😀 It's my first Canopus card. I've read about them here in the forum, and when this one popped up... I just had to grab it.

It's a tier below, TNT2 Pro. I've read somewhere it can actually reach higher clocks than the Ultra, not that I plan to abuse this old lass.

Just arrived, a Gigabyte nForce2 motherboard with AMD Athlon XP 2500+, sold as not working because the previous owner said "it just stopped working" so we'll see what I can do with it. It does have some bulging caps, so I'll likely recap it.

Also in the package, a Geforce4 Ti 4200 and a SoundBlaster SB0220. I am really hoping the video card works, I can deal with everything else not working if that were the case, I don't have a GeForce4 yet so that alone would make the whole package well worth it. It's dirty and needs a good cleaning. I paid $67 out the door for everything, worth the chance.

If it works, it will most likely end up in an AMD socket A system. I never owned an Intel computer until I built a C2D E6600 system back in the mid 2000s. Gotta stick to my heritage. 😁

Congrats! You got the best socket A board ever made! I got 4 and they all perform flawlessly with the original Rubicon capacitors. It works even with SSD's! My main retro system has an AN7 with an Athlon XP 3200 and has been running since 2016.

Same for me. Worked at a computer store during the K7/K8 era and dunked on intel every chance I got, still don't like Pentium4s.

It's not really about counting, but I keep an excel sheet which keeps the stat, describes all cards, specs. conditions etc. I do hope however to stop myself at around 150. because it requires too much space. Special cards... I have a few boxed cards, Hercules Kyros, later "bug fixed" Parhelia, Voodoo 5500, Voodoo 1, 2. Radeon X1950 XTX, Hercules GF2 GTS, brand new 3DLabs GLoriaXL, Chaintech SiS Xabre 400, 3DLabs Wildcats. I don't know how special these are, but I love them 😀 What would be special for me atm is finding AT3D, Blade XP, or Volari V8 / Duo and for the Volari there is almost no hope 🙁

Nice collection. Reminds me I need to do the inventory of my stash... I've started doing it a few times and always gave up after a few boxes... as there is just too much stuff 🤣

I've seen a few Volari cards for sale in recent years... for the others even if I had them I wouldn't know 🙁

Here, I've attached a snap of the file. It might not be the most elegant, but it makes it much easier to track your stuff. I'm also looking for a specialized cataloging software that could deal with such information. There I could add pictures of the cards etc...

Thank you for your invitation but I prefer not to overclock my retro systems. Longevity is more important to me than high scores on the forum board.

Now you got me interested... since I've always been on a Pentium, and as it happens, a nice Socket A board just popped up on the bay. Meanwhile, another haul came today... One bad caps board (hope it works after recap), and two graphics cards, one great condition, one boxed sealed.
