I came across an auction for an old Killer NIC on eBay about a month ago. The giant K on it that I guess acted as a heatsink caught my eye.
It was supposed to provide better gaming over a network by taking some load off the CPU. The little I read about it made it not really seem worth the price when new.
Are there more common PCI or PCI-X network cards that work on Win 98 and do the same thing?
I wouldn’t expect much benefit and doubt I’d even be using a network connection much on an older PC but if there’s a chance to use an odd expansion card I’m all for it.
