Hi!
Had somebody here played Extereme Assault under DOSBOX and GUS emulation? I can't set GUS as music card, although I can set it as sund card....very strange is also, when I'm using newer Miles Sound System (Extreme Assault uses MSS 3.50B) I can set GUS for music and sound card, but the game can't be launched, I got a message "SOUND_Init_Sound_system:: AIL
INIT:: Cannot init sound system.
This is full CD version (NOT rip).

Do you have the GUS software installed? Some Miles driven games fall over when they can't find SBOS or patches.

But other games works. Also, newer version of MSS detect GUS properly. but game doesn't work.

D-partition is mounted as disc D under DOSBOX:

mount D "D:\Gry\

But more interesting for me is, is anybody here, who played this game under DOSBOX and GUS?

Check ALL gus vars, especially that ultrasound path thing.

But other games works.

Also, newer version of MSS detect GUS properly.

Irrelevant.

I've tested all ports values (from 220 to 300) and some IRQ and DMA-settings...nothing helps. Sound card can be set, MIDI card- can't. Sometimes I've got message "Could not initialize instrument manager" sometimes "XMIDI hardware not found"...I can't beat this...
