I don’t really know if this counts as vintage, but I’m also not sure it’s quite modern.

I’d like to introduce you to a project I have been working on for quite some time. Some time last week was my first successful boot of Windows 98 on a Quark X1000 platform.

This particular board has 2x mini pcie slots which I’ve broken out using old mining risers into pcie slots. Connected to these at the time of the 3dmark99 run in the screenshots attached was an nvme drive and an ATI Firegl v7100.

I’ve since been experimenting with a pcie-pci bridge and a Mateox G450, and am considering getting what to settle on for the final hardware before building an enclosure.
