So,I've got this build going, frensh w98se installation and latest reference drivers. It hungs immediatly after:
Using windows media player to play a video
Launch quake 2
Launch AoE
Dxdiag, Video tab.
And I guess pretty much anything that uses directX or something that is not plain 2D
It's a Jazz Multimedia Adrenaline Rush 6Mb version with the AT25 (no to be confused with the horrible AT3D) the 2D part works fine, looks fine and no issues, until DirectX comes to play or some software that uses acceleration.
Drivers I tried 3dfx-voodoo-rush-single 3-01-00 and also 3-00-01 apparently these two are the last ones.
I'm never sure about the order, video drivers first and then directx reinstall or the other way
Mobo pc-chips m571 v3.2, I know this card with this exact mobo worked just fine like in the year 1999 or so, it was my parents PC I installed this very rush after I "upgraded" my PC with a Banshee, so poor and miserable I was.

I seem to remember maybe some of the drivers overclocked the card too high, I think there is ini file etc that can be changed. Sorry I don't remember if this is correct.

I have the same rush as you and also two MX versions and I've never got any of them working fully, they seem like very buggy cards.

Yeah I read that somewhere, (or was it Gemini AI?) I will give down-clocking it a try.

All Rush cards can be very picky. The drivers that OC the AT based cards only affect 2D funcionality. I would check for physical damage/no longer soldered FJR/TMU pins first.
This looks a bit sus:

Thanks for the response, I will try the OG drivers for this card, they should work albeit slow or buggy.
yeah I will take a look again at bent pins (noticed that one and I checked it with magnifier galss) and scratches, today I tried it in another PC with the same results, something is wrong with it, I'm afraid physically

At this point pretty much every Voodoo 1 and most V2 need resoldering of the big chips, and then checking one pin at a time with magnification and something like a toothpick
