I don’t think it would hurt to grab as many different drivers as you can find, whether it’s Detonator (12.90 and newer) or early ForceWare ones. Preferably, use the 12.xx range of Detonator drivers for better backwards compatibility with Windows 95/98 era games.

Thanks with this card (v7100pro/m64) old d3d games runs with very low frame rates. So its a drivers ? Or İncorrect fsb rates?

Try to use some one-digit drivers, like 7.76. Older ones are better suited for such slow CPUs like P2 400.

What games? And what settings did you set? P2 400 might be a bit too slow for 2000+ games.
If your mobo supports Coppermines, you could try to use one of them (preferably the ones with 100 FSB). If not, then PIII 550-600 with Katmai core (2.0V) should help a bit...

Games like future cop lapd , heavy gear 2, thief2,dethcarz,carmageedon2
All demos of course

This is how Thief 2 runs like on my PII 400 machine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgRzVNMuhFM
This is what can be expected on this CPU, with a Voodoo2 card installed. Does it run better or about the same on your computer?

Pentium -ll @ 400mhz was a very popular CPU in Windows-98
Era.
I had one
They cost about $250
Also the video cards
Matrox millennium
ATI rage
Riva TNT
Voodoo
And sound blaster live.
Basically PCI cards.

can you provide download link for 7.76?

Looks like the Windows 98/Me version of the Detonator 7.76 drivers are available in the driver archive on VOGONS:

Thanks btw cpuz is tells me cpu bus speed is 100 mhz and dram frequency is a 100 mhz -sdram 256 mb-. Are these values normal.

Yep, those look like perfectly ordinary 440BX-like specs, which is exactly the chipset your Gigabyte 6BXC appears to be using.

Strangely newer games like unreal tourment , kingpin , star trek elite force runs much better then old games like future cop , heavy gear 2 , uprising. They are older games and should runs better with geforce2?
Kingpin and Unreal should run pretty well on P2 400/GF2 MX.
UT99 - depends on map... These smaller ones should run fine. But there is a map with mirror-like floor, that requires much faster CPU...

Heavy Gear 2 is from 1999 so isn't really older.
But it's not only the year the game was released. It just depends on how the engine was built and how many polygons and effects it's trying to push. There's a reason why "how it runs" was a huge point of discussion back in the day.
If you want smoother gameplay you really have to aim for a generation ahead for your build.
You have a 440BX so you should be able to stick a much faster CPU in there to improve the performance if you want to. The GPU you have chosen is more suited to something around the 1GHz mark, your motherboard should support such a CPU, either a slot 1 pentium 3 or a coppermine/tualatin CPU on a slocket adaptor
System 1: K6-3+ 600MHz! MS-5158 (430TX), Voodoo3, AWE64
System 2: Athlon XP-M 2800+ SL-75KAV (KT133A) FX5200
System 3: 775i65g (work in progress) FX5900XT
System 4: i7-2600k, P8P67-M, GTX 460
The Pentium-ll @400mhz was so popular in 1998-99 my HP kayak XU computer came with two of them
And an intel BX 440 chipset motherboard .
It was a very popular CPU.
3dmark99 at 800*600 16 bit zbuffer
3332 3DMarks
3911 CPU 3DMarks
İs this score good for this combo
Based on a score from a Pentium II 450 that I saw in this 3dmark99 MegaThread on VOGONS, it doesn't seem like your system is too off from that one, speed-wise.
