Hello,
I acquired this nice Banshee.
It is recognised by windows but won’t visualise anything.
I am trying to flash the bios but apparently the flash chip is not recognised by 3Dfx Flash or Uniflash.
It is a winbond w27e010p

Any advice?

Doing some steps ahead, after various attempts now the thing is visualising but only in safe mode.
Well… Kind of….

Anyway, the flash program is not recognising the Eeprom, even now that I am using it (with artifact).
Which program should I use?

Uniflash supports Banshee IIRC, but be careful with that.
Also it is possible the bios chip is damaged, I have seen that with Banshee once. Can be even the cause of artifacts.

I checked Uniflash supported Eeprom and it does not support the one on the card….

Ok I think I am screwed.
W27E010P Can be read at 5V but it can be written at 12v only.
There is no way I can flash it with any flasher…
Thanks Powercolor….

The only way would be to desolder it.

I had a strange problem with a Banshee some months ago, similar to yours.

How I found the actual issue (after desoldering and soldering eeprom a couple of times...), was creating a Bios dump with uniflash.exe -pcirom, and showing it to AI. It gave me the data line that was wrong, so I've checked continuity on every component related to it.

Problem was one of those 245 chips on the right side of the picture, you can find the link here to when I managed to repair it: Re: What retro activity did you get up to today?

Wish you good luck! 😀
