What are the greatest home computer games (80s to early 90s - e.g. C64, Atari MSX, AMiga etc.) that have never been ported to the PC.
For example "Impossible Mission" is one of the greatest C64 games ever but only part 2 has seen a PC version (no idea why).

What are your favorite titles that never got a PC release?

Um, off the cuff, Snatcher comes to mind (very niche).
In the western world, it was very well known on the Sega Mega CD (aka Sega-CD) and it originally came from Japan (MSX, PC-88).
As far as I know, there never has been a port to either Japanese or Western PCs (PC-98, DOS/V or PC/AT).

Edit: Just switched my mind to western mode..
Hm, on a second thought, I was thinking about "The Great Gianasisters" (C64/Amiga).
But then I remembered there once was a demoscene production released for PC/DOS.
I have to think about it some longer.

Wow, thats interesting. I didnt know that the "Giant" sisters had this port. Will give it a try. Fun fact from the webpage that the name Gina sisters was prohibited. Now the copyright infringement gets copyright protected itself ?

^Thanks a lot for the links, there were a lot of details that I didn't know yet! 😃
About the YT video and the NES/SMB1 in the Gians Sisters' country of origin.. it's a bit complicated.

The NES did exist there - a fairly unknown company called Bienengräber did distribution in late 80s, before Nint. opened its Europe HQ in Großostheim.

So it's understandable that some members of Generation C64 (Gen X?) may conclude that current day nostalgia for NES or SMB1 is a little bit, um, unjustified.

They may think that, um, fake nostalgia/false memories must be involved among the average retro fans when looking back, in short, maybe.
That's understandable, I think. After all, from their point of view, the C64 was the star and datasettes and floppies (later) were usual.

Personally, though, I think that (S)NES was well known by about '92/'93.
A time when C64 was on decline and less common among the young, but when the Amiga still was an alternative to PC.
By that time, the original GameBoy had helped to make Nint. a household name.

Anyway, it just came to my mind. I did't mean to write too much, hope it's not too long.

PS: About Fractalus, the game Sentinel comes to my mind. I'm not exactly sure why, however.

Rescue on Fractalus!

YES - Rescue on Fractulus yet reminded me of another Lucasfilm Game "Labyrinth" (https://www.mobygames.com/game/12175/labyrinth/)
Although that had at least a port to the PC-88

Popeye from 1983 wasn't "great" but it never got ported to the PC, and was strangely one of my favorites back then. Would love to see a modern MS-DOS port of it, much in the style of the Kurt W Dekker ports of many great classics for DOS back in the 1990s. All under 1 MB and released as freeware now.
