Introducing: VST2Bridge, a universal standalone VST2 bridge designed to run 32-bit VST2 plugins in 64-bit hosts and vice versa. This was until now only available in the form of paid software. This version however is free of charge, more stable and available to anyone who wishes to use it, for whatever purposes.
What does it do?
- After downloading the patcher (Win/Linux/Mac supported) and executing it, locate the plugin which you would like to bridge (e.g.: syxg50.dll). It will be found automatically in the patcher dir or can be located manually.
- The patcher will then generate bridges (in the same dir as the source plugin) for the opposite architecture, i.e. a 32-bit plugin receives a 64-bit bridge while a 64-bit plugin gets a 32-bit bridge.
- Windows users will get bridges in DLL and CLAP format while all the others receive CLAP only.
What is it good for?
- In case of the S-YXG50 for example, only 32-bit plugins are available. With a 64-bit bridge, these can also be loaded in 64-bit DAWs or other 64-bit software such as the Falcosoft MIDI Player (without having to keep a separate 32-bit version).
- Also supported is the latest CLAP feature in the popular Doom source port Woof!, currently available in latest dev snapshots only. You would need the plugin DLL, the CLAP bridge and the corresponding host exe (for the S-YXG50, it would require: syxg50.dll, syxg50_x64.clap and vst2bridge-host64.exe which go into Woof!'s "plugins" dir).
