Until I used the command "type command.com" DOSBox did not show file sizes of virtual files (like command.com) when using DIR command on driver Z. Since then it shows that (see image). How do I reset it to default behavior?

thanks

Are you sure? I used DOSBox today and file sizes were not shown... [before I did what I've written in the previous post.] I know this is a minor issue.

maybe you used dir/w ?
as dir really shows the file sizes.

No. I used just DIR as you can see in the image. I'm sure that the filesize field was blank in this kind of files (command.com and etc).

I think you might have been mistaken or have seen a bug.
The design is that it shows the filesize....
So the screenshot you posted should be the default and the correct behavior.

Please post exact instructions on how to reproduce this "bug" if, like DosFreak says, anybody'd really care.

I'm using Windows XP. All the info is in the previous posts. Can someone who never played with those files (never used 'type' command on them for example) post a screenshot?

I can't see your problem, other than you're being a bit anal about your directory display. (;

The default for DOSBox is to display info as per your screenshot, no matter if you "type"'d anything on that drive or another, or not. How do you think a "type" command is supposed to change a setting that can't be configured in the first place (enabling/disabling certain fields of a "DIR" command, in this case)? Magic?

No because it'd look the same as what you posted, as DosFreak mentioned.
