Ok, first things, first. Please follow the posting guidelines as displayed at the top of each forum (appears as Important: Follow These Guidelines When Submitting Help Requests ). Most important are your system specifications: things like your processor, video card, sound card, etc... Without this data, we have to resort to playing "20 Questions" with you and it wastes a lot of time.
We can always resort to wild guessing, but that is even less useful.
Also, you should try the Quick Search function at the top of the page. Just type in the keywords (in this case, Daggerfall) and it will pull up the previous message threads about that topic.
Having said all that, I will tell you that Daggerfall is one of the many DOS titles that, put simply, "Don't like NT". Even in DOS or Windows 9x, it has problems. So far as I know, nobody has been able to run it consistently well on an NT OS (like XP). Just getting it to install in XP tends to be an ordeal...
Others have attempted some guides for it:

or

Taking a wild guess, you probably have a fast processor (much faster than the needed 66MHz 486). Unfortunately Daggerfall is "speed-sensitive", meaning the faster your processor, the more difficult it will be to run it properly. You can try one of the many "slow-down" programs available, but they can cause problems as well...
All this is on top of the numerous bugs that already existed in the game under DOS (and still exist when run on XP). Many can be fixed by patches available, others cannot...
By the way, are you running VDMSound 2.04 with the GUI Launchpad and the update files? If not:
