Hi guys i'm new here i downloaded this software so i could play the Dos version of the crystal maze game on my vista laptop.

But i have a very big problem i can't mount my directory and i need your help.
The reason why i can't mount is because the software won't recongize or use these simple buttons: the : button and the \ button. so thanks to it i cant even write a directory let alone mount one, i've tried the keyboard mapper and it's no help whatsoever.

Please somebody help me, Thanks for Reading.

Did you read the stuff around

in the readme? Where's the problem?

No problem, just ask but be more descriptive with the problem if it's still unclear.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

Edit dosbox.conf and put the mount commands in there.

just 2 minor problems with that where in the config file do i put it, and when i save the config file vista wont let me save it. The only way i can save it if i change something is if i save it as a txt, will dosbox still work if i do.

I'm editing the dosbox.config file using notepad if that helps, maybe im using the wrong the wrong program.

well I have Vista too
I edit/save the config using notepad
no problem

as to where to put changes
well it depends
the autoexec section is obv. for things to be... autoexecuted

as for the keyboard are you allright with it now ?

I don't know what your keyb. layout originally is either.

Even with a UK PC you should be able to edit textfiles.

And my 60 seconds guide clearly contains a paragraph that begins with

OBS: The DOSBox 0.72 installer is not Vista-aware and installs the configuration file inside the Programs folder, and that leads to a lot of problems.

Now, if you really had read my guide you would 1) have known this, 2) have known how to work around it. So please sit down, and read out my guide again - this time read it out loud and listen to your own voice.
