"Drive D: doesn't exist."

I'm trying to run the DOS version of Descent 2, which requires the CD to be present to run. However, DOSBox isn't recognizing my DVD drive for some reason. I try to "MOUNT D D: -t cdrom", and with E: and a bunch of other letters in case DOSbox had some weird designation for it but it won't mount.

I also am trying to copy the cd contents into a folder in C: and mount that, but some files won't copy (old, scratched-up CD) and I've had no luck with that yet.

or k:\ if k is your cdrom drive 😀
So try something like "mount d x:\ -t cdrom" if x is your physical cdrom letter.

hmmm... I got DOSBox to recognize the CDs, but Descent 2 still won't recognize them. Interesting. Should I create a new thread in the games section, or can this thread be moved?

Could you please post the output of dosbox when you mounted the cd,
as well as the exact error message descent2 tells you.
