I will hope Dosbox can have long filenames in future releases !!
I'm trying tu use Mugen with dosbox and it work so good but many filenames are more than 8+3 and config files have references to long filenames,so when it tries to load those files will crash 'cause it didn't find them...
I've tried with lfndos but doesn't work.

I think that this mod cen be done 'cause is something not too difficult.And abut the version of dos used by dosbox,if it uses 6.22 that can't use LFN,I will suggest to add like a double dos version with 6.22 and the dos 7 that uses long file names!!

Won't happen as real dos games never use long filenames.

so there is a way to use dos 7 with actual version of dosbox??..i've tried to load a command.com from dos 7 but it says wrong dos version.I think I can substitue the virtual drive with dos 6.22 files with the 7 files...there is a way??

...also I've tried with sys c: z: but obviously it refuses to go...

You can boot msdos in dosbox (see boot.com and imgmount.com) but you
might have more fun doing the same in some virtual machine.
