I know there are multiple video modes, but I've noticed Jazz JackRabbit runs at 59Hz according to my monitor. is that right?
Isn't 60Hz the right video mode?

Dos games can tweak the vga card to generate specific resolutions and refresh rates, so you can end up with different ones.

Jazz Jackrabbit switches between Mode13h (320x200x256x70) for the menus, and ModeX (320x240x256x60) for gameplay for console style sync.
Monitors OSDs may not round up to the nearest Hz in their display, they're always off by one
