I think i browsed a store's site where they had one of these. A 5.25" external USB drive. That entire thing is an amazing sign of the times. Who would need something like that, besides retro-gaming fans, and which company would keep such a product on today's market. 😜

Yes, exactly. An external 5.25" floppy drive that can be attached to a computer with USB.

uhm... Have you SEEN it? 5.25" may possibly and in most cases indicate the frame size, not the floppy type

You'd think some asians would have made an usb -> floppy drive controller thingie so you can just hook up the original drives

Well, not in real life, but ive seen screenshots of it. It is for 5.25" floppies, the 5.25" doesnt just refer to the case size.
