Hey 😀

Im pretty new with all this stuff, and I have never used an emulator before. I downloaded the DOSBox to Windows (version 0.72-win 32-installer), and I tried to install it. But i cant get it working at all, maybe because I dont have Commander Keen on a cd or something.

Im running (trying at least) DOSBox on Vista.

When im starting DOSBox its a black window where it says: "Z:\>" and I know im supposed to write something important there, but I have no idea what will start my game!

I know Im not a good explainer to all of this, but I have no idea how else I can start explaining! Please ask questions!

First, you shouldn't tell you're a girl,
and you shouldn't tell your age. 😉

Second, nobody believes you're 19 or a girl.

We're still waiting for the pictures-of-proof.

Well this is sort of a problem of course if you want to play keen.
Check out this site for some old keen demos (keen1 and keen4):

For how to install the games inside dosbox: read through the threads in
the guides forum (pictorial guide etc.), and if something doesn't work out
report back in this thread.

The Keen1 demo is easy to get going in DOSBox. Unpack keen1.zip into something like FolderA, and create an empty FolderC.

In DOSBox, do a

mount A "path\to\FolderA" -t floppy
mount C "path\to\FolderC"

A:
INSTALL
C:
CD \KEEN1
KEEN1

Now lend her a hand and install some keen! And don't dare to ever ask
why the hell she'd want to play commander keen.....

Read the README file.
Read this guide.
If you're still lost try a front-end like DBGL or D-Fend Reloaded
