Okay, this is my question:

How does one install and run multiple disk games using DOSBox?

For example:

"The 11th Hour" is a multiple CD game. I downloaded the game and transfered the files to four or five different DVDs. When I attempted to run the game, I installed the files into my C drive directory, C:\OLDGAMES\11H. When I attempted to run the game from that directory, the game would not start because it couldn't detect the CD ROM drive (I'm assuming I need to MOUNT it as well?)

I then tried to play the game from the system files of the disk itself. I.E., I MOUNTed the E:\ drive, then attempted to install the files. The computer told me that there wasn't enough space on the disk (it obviously thought I was trying to install the files onto the CD itself), would I like to retry or abort the operation. I selected "abort" believing that that would be the end, but instead it launched the game. Unfortunately when I needed to put in a different DVD, the game ceased to work (I'm assuming because the System Files weren't present on the next disk).

So precisely, how do I install and run a game off of a CD or multiple CDs?

It is simple, real simple.

  1. Read the README-file.
  2. Buy the game.
  3. Install it.

You apparently didn't read past the first line of my post. Please continue to the second paragraph and THEN reply.

P.S.: I read the README file, and there was no answer there, so quit being a smart ass.

No, you are being the 'smart ass'.

The problem with your post are the words: "I downloaded the game...". This VOGONs website does not condone or support software theft. None of your other questions matter. Go to the place from which you 'downloaded' the 11th Hour and ask your questions there.

Go away.

I think I have found a previously unknown 1-to-1 correlation: That of post count versus IQ.

You two can team up against me, but I downloaded the game quite legally. If there's a problem with the fact that I downloaded the game via the AIM file transfer, then the moderator can delete my post... It's not your place to try to kick me out. If you don't know the answer then DON'T POST ANYTHING!

If you're so smart, why don't you answer my question instead of being brass about it?

Of course there's a problem with that, it's not legal.

Okay, question - from where did you download the game?
The answer to that will determine what happens next to this topic.

For games that are run from real CDs, when they ask for the next disk, just put it in the drive. DOSBox will read the disk normally.
For disk images (.ISO, etc) that are loaded with imgmount, see the readme.txt:
It is possible to mount CD-ROM images (ISOs or CUE/BIN) as well, if you need CD swapping capabilities specify all images in succession. The CDs can be swapped with CTRL-F4 at any time.

Peterferrie explained it quite well. On the other hand, yes, we don't support downloaded content here, unless it is legit, which I doubt it is for 99% of downloads sites.
