Has anyone successfully got this working? I have just tried to install and run the Windows version (it's the same game, but you can run it in DOS or Windows 3.1). I have VDMSound, the launchpad the update, the XP compability toolkit (though I don't know if I need it or how to use it),the Sierra drivers... When I tried to run it in Windows, the VDMSound icon was not beside "run with VDMSound' when I right-clicked the .exe, though it was there for other programs. Then I tried to run it with compatilibity mode, and this bunch of errors happened: Windows title not found, cannot find SCIDLL.DLL, Can't find SIERRA.ERR. What? I installed it okay.
I will try the DOS mode too. It's just that I have tried this before with no luck. The Window version would always be in a window, and would be missing some animations (like scrolling to the next screen) although now it won't work at all, and the DOS mode would work with improved performance with VDMSound, but music was missing parts, and sped up and slowed down on it's own.
You can try to help me get it working. But I always wonder if someone ELSE with Space Quest 6 got it running on Windows XP? What did you do? Dos mode or windowed mode?
For more info on my system specs you can read my profile, but some specs I don't know right now, I'd have to get out my receipt of my PC.
