Hello, I am hoping to use dosbox with the following situation. I have a dos app that I need to run on a netbook (all reasonably priced netbooks do not have a com port). The dos app requires the use of a serial/com port and needs to run in dos. I am hoping that with dosbox and a usb-to-serial port driver/hardware adaptor (none of these adaptors have dos drivers), the dos app will be able to run inside(?) of XP and communicate thru the adaptor, thru the driver, thru XP, thru dosbox. Will dosbox recognize the adaptor as a com port (XP lists it as a true com port) and therefore allow the dos app to run successfully?

You will have to try. Some apps are picky about timing.

If the adaptor is allowing Windows to have a valid serial port, will dosbox now think it has a serial port?
