Is dosbox a KDe app? If not the maintainer of that package should be assigned
to this report.

DOSBox isn't a KDE app. The maintainer of the package is probably yet another person, unless they use the RPM from the DOSBox download page, which I somehow doubt. I guess that adds a fourth party 😜

A KDE app would be one that works off the KDE base libraries and follows the common GUI control scheme of KDE, etc.

No, Dosbox isn't a KDE app, and has no need to be - it's SDL, it controls it's window completely, and since it doesn't pop up things like file dialog boxes, it doesn't need to use the KDE widget set. This conveniently keeps it out of the religious wars surrounding widget sets as well!

The bug listed is simply in the formation of the install package, and really has nothing to do with Dosbox. Some well intentioned person just gave it an entry on the KDE programs menu without filling in another required field (so Dosbox knows where it's running and has permissions to write out a conf file).

In short, this has nothing to do with Dosbox. Whoever submitted the package to the SUSE repository just needs to add one line to their install.

Oh, and this is just a rehash of stuff that has been thrashed to death but I missed the first time: config seems broken

Thanks frobme - I didn't know the exact answer but I was pretty sure that DOSBox was not an KDE app, and hence the whole fingerpointing was being being directed the wrong way.

nonetheless the problem with the configuration file will probably be less of an issue with 0.73 as that one will create one by default if it can't find one.
