That's the error message I get when trying to play Bloodbowl. I've tried to play this classic masterpiece on every DOS emulator out there without any luck (even DOSbox won't work). I noticed that Bloodbowl works with VDSMSound (nice piece of work by the way!) but I can't for the life of me get it to run. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, followed the update instructions to the letter, tinkered with the settings, and still get the same error message. Any ideas? I'm running on WinXP Home and DX9, P4 2 ghz, GeForce 3 5000, SB Live!, all drivers are updated.

Oh yeah, when I type C:\cd set vdsmsound path I get the message that the path is not found, however when I go into environment variables, it's set correctly.

Update 2 and the launchpad have been installed correctly.

Eh? That's a malformed command, not to mention you wrote 'vdsmsound path' and the correct env var is 'VDMSPath'.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Oops, typo 😜 I get the right path when I type it in correctly anyway, so it still doesn't work.

I think something unique is going on as I was able to run it easily.

I've tried to play this classic masterpiece on every DOS emulator out there without any luck (even DOSbox won't work).

DosBox does not support protected mode games yet. BloodBowl needs a 486, and 386 protected mode isn't ready yet, so 486 is farther down the road.

Whenever you can't get something to run with audio, configure it to run with no audio at all to see if the basic program is even working.

That's because what you've typed there is nonsense. To the computer, you are asking it to change directory (CD) to a directory called "set vdsmsound path", which of course, doesn't exist.

That's the command that confirms the pathway for VDMSound
