If you don't like it you can always remap it with CTRL+F1.

alt-f4 is OS-specific so this is not applicable.

Instead of making things easier, you say "customize this" "edit this file" "press control-shift-F2". Most people don't run lunix all day or know about your wierd programming languages, they just want to play old games! But I have to go through FAQs and so on to find what obscure display settings have to be editted instead of having it done automatically. How should I know the difference between ddraw and surface? Likewise it cuts down the dosbox audience to have to remap these commands *after* we lose lots of progress because the program closed without a warning.

I'd say get a faster computer so you don't have to mess with frameskip 🤣

Your rant doesn't apply to a program that emulates a PC and the behavior of a CLI OS. If refuse to understand how DOSBox works, refuse to use it properly, refuse to configure it properly after install then your only other option is to download the DOSBox source code, program away, compile and then be fully satisfied at how wonderful your copy of DOSBox is now that you've solved all problems with DOSBox and no user intervention is required.

You may want to patent this approach for other things in life as well people would be highly interested in the above magical solution.
