Hi there everyone.

I've been trying to start DOSBox, but this error keeps prompting everytime.

Exit to error: Can't init SDL DirectInputDevice::SetCooperativeLevel: Unknown DirectInput error: 0x80004001

I've searched everywhere and couldn't find an answer that could solve the problem.
I found a couple of threads here with this problem, but I couldn't fix it with that.

Any help, plz?

Try updating your graphics card drivers and DirectX.

Mmm... I'm pretty sure that my gfx card's drivers are up to date. My DirectX is version 9 too, but tomorrow will try to reinstall both things, didn't have time today.

Do you happen to have a joystick attached to your system? If so, try unplugging it from the PC and see if that'll allow DOSBox to start.

Well, after I got home and booted my pc and try it, it suddenly worked, didn't have to do anything. It's strange, I tried to boot before and it didn't work... if I figure out why it worked this time I'll post it.

I love DOSBox,it's too great to be able to play again all the gems of the past 😀

I had the same problem, but in my case gulity was COMODO Internet Security. It didn't allow to run SDL.dll, and hangs up without information! After restarting it everything ist OK 😀
