DOS game installer CD Speed check and Nero Drive Speed

Hello - Have 2 DOS games (Emergency Room and STTNG AFU) which I've tried to install into DOSbox 0.72 win32-installer recently on a Dell Inspiron netbook w/14 GB capacity hard drive, approx. 11 GB free space and during install both game's CD speed check locks up. Have d/l Nero Drive Speed - will post back later to report the results or any problems I'm having. Am using an Asus external optical drive which I brought last week, its native speed is 24X for CD-ROM's.

Yes, I did. I even took a hot bath for a half-hour, and when I came out of the tub, it was still stuck.
