Originally posted by Unregistered I just recently got my lawnmower Man game (single CD version) working on my PC after not being able to play it since I've had a 486.
Finally found my CD (as usual, it was only after I had given up looking for it).
I got it working last night but it skips and stutters.
By the way, this why we ask for system specifications. It could be related to your OS...except I have no idea what OS you're using.
The CD is scratched, but will this happen anyway if I get a new CD of it?
Hard to tell, since I know nothing about your present PC (other than it's beyond a 486).
BTW, anybody know a place that sells the 2 cd version
I don't know of any 2-CD version in existence. However, there was a sequel called "Cyberwar" which had 2 CD's. IIRC, the second CD was primarily (only?) audio CD tracks. Hrrmm...another game to track down.
Here's what I DID figure out. It claims to have SVGA support, but I've seen no evidence of that other than the reference on the box. It plays horribly within XP (Hates NT). Having said that Win98 is Ok for video, but audio is still terrible. The way it tries to stream audio from data files...I wonder if there's ANY PC that will play it's audio smoothly.
Presuming you have Win2K or XP and a potent processor, your best bet is to use DosBox. Be Sure and read the README. You can adjust cycles to approximate the 386 processor speed so the audio and video stay in proper synch. DosBox doesn't support SVGA/VESA (yet), but like I said, I can't find any SVGA support in the game.
