Back slash does not work in DOSbox

When i type mount c c:\m2 to mount
My screen says mount c c:]m2mount

Do i need a back slash or can i just use a space.

Using vista home premium 64 bit sp2
Dell studio XPS
Intel core duo p8600 2.4ghn
