Unless I'm not doing something obvious, I can't get VDMSound to install.

I've got a brand new P4 with Windows XP. I've tried to install version 2.0.4. downloading it from a floppy disk on another computer and copying it onto the new computer's c: drive (I don't have that one connected to the Internet just now) but all that happens is that it flashes up a blank black DOS box for less than a second and nothing else.

I should have the MSI installer already, shouldn't I? So what's the problem?

Very likely (99.999%) the file is corrupt. Download again, and make sure the floppy has no bad sectors.

Also, once you've copied the file to your computer, right click on it, choose Properties, then make sure the data on the tabs look correct. Maybe the file is somehow being corrupted "en route".
