There are a couple of Sierra games that I've only got the Windows versions of, and I'm trying to future-proof them by making them work in Windows.

One of them is KQ7, and I bet that the problems I'm having will also happen with the others, and the solution to these problems will also work with the others.

I've got SB16 drivers installed, and Windows 3.1 makes a chime sound on startup. Display driver is S3 864 1.41B5 640x480 256 colors.

Problem #1: FMVs crash.

When I click "watch intro," this happens:

Problem #2: Flickering cursor

Whenever the cursor animates, it disappears, and blinks into existence for what seems like a single frame every few seconds.

Problem #3: No MIDI music.

The sound effects and digitized music plays fine. The MIDI music is silent.

Running:
Windows 10
Core i5-6600
Geforce GTX 970

Probably not. If that isn't a component of Windows that gets installed by default, then I don't even know what that is.

Why not just use one of my KQ7 installers? It will upgrade the game to version 2.00b with a DOS interpreter and set it up to run in DOSBox without need of Win3x. Just download the one for your version of the game.
