I abandoned figuring this out with XP. It seems I can get it to work but it requires a big effort and this machine isn't meant for playing (it's what I work with). So, Ibroke out an older machine...it runs windows 98. When I first bought the game I played it on windows '95 or '98...I can't remember which, but I'm sure it wasn't DOS.

It is a DOS game and it probably isn't going to be much easier to get it to run under Win9x than it is in DOSBox.

This '98 machine (laptop) does not have a CD drive...or any optical drives...I had to flash everything to my USB drive and transfer it that way. Doesn't work, though, as I've read the game absolutely MUST have a disc in the CD drive to operate. Do you know of any ways around this?

I already wrote about using bin/cue images. They can be used just as well with Windows 98 (via Daemon Tools).
