Hello. Back in Dec. 2009 right before Christmas when GOG.com was offering Tex Murphy 1 + 2 for free, I d/l it, but I found I can't really use the d/l - these games are simply too difficult for me even with a w/t. So I'm wondering if I could maybe email the files (the size is 29.1 MB) to someone here as a trade for another game that I'd really like to get?

If I could, and if anyone is willing, I'd like to trade my Tex Murphy d/l for a copy of Cassandra Galleries, please?

Thanks.

As you will still have access to game files after you mailed them to somebody else. This is technically copying and distributing the game for profit (e.g another game in return).
Are you sure you want to request such a thing on vogons ?

Wouldn't it be better to contact GOG? They offered a different game for those who have already purchased the Tex Murphy games (which means they think about these things), so if you are dissatisfied with the games you purchased then they may offer an exchange.

This is even more possible than other prices since all games have the same prices.

Ok, thanks for the tip.

What the heck!? You're dissatisfied with something you got for free, so you want to trade it for an illegal copy of a different game?

I actually contacted Kutoka Interactive five years ago and they very politely suggested that they might be able to provide me with an unofficial copy of Cassandra Galaries for $40 USD.

Thanks for the tip - I'll contact them next month or near the end of this month. Did you actually receive your unofficial copy of Cassandra Galleries? Did it run ok on in your computer?

EDIT - About the Tex Murphy d/l - I guess I'll just have to delete it from my hard drive, and consider the free d/l (a few days old) of Beneath A Steel Sky from GOG.com a fair replacement.

Why would I want to spend $40 on a game I know nothing about, when there are so many excellent games that can be purchased for much less? (At the time I was making inquiries on behalf of someone else.)

It was free! Nobody cares if it is on your hard drive!

Did this person you were inquiring for actually receive the unofficial copy of Cassandra Galleries, and did it run ok on his/her computer?

He was a collector looking for an original copy (which are hopelessly rare and which no one will sell you for $20 and which you shouldn't ask for 😜 ).

I emailed Kutoka asking if they have a unofficial copy of Cassandra Galleries today and they replied that they no longer sell even the unofficial copies - but I sure would like to get my hands on a copy - even if it's an unofficial copy of Cassandra Galleries.
