Anyone has a spare or unused AT motherboard casing and willing to ship here? I know the shipping will be quite expensive but I'm willing to pay for it.

Just wanted a case (with the LED and turbo button) for my 486. Preferably with space for 2x 5.25" bays and a 3.5" bay.

My current AT case is used for my P133 system.

And I'm also looking for a MPU-401 breakout box plus the isa card. (Or MCB-1 will do.)

Any offers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the offer. Any desktop style casing available? Or perhaps a full AT tower..

I have a desktop case which takes standard baby AT mobos, 2x5.25 bays, 1x3.5 FDD bay, 1x3.5 HDD cradle. It has some issues, though. I had to replace the power supply and there is only one position in which I could secure the power switch; In that position part of the switch and the wires protrude in such a way that I cannot put back the metal cover.
And you are right... The shipping from Romania to Malaysia would cost you an arm and a leg.

If there are some pictures of your spare (tower and/or desktop) cases, I might be able to spare the leg and arm! 😁

(And in case I would like to get em', no need to include the power supply.)

I will snap and send you some pictures. Bad quality ones. I do not have a dedicated digicam, so I will use the 1.3 Mp cam from my phone, a Nokia 6230i; Which are infamous for low quality in a 1.3 Mp cam.

Just looked into my national Postal Service international shipping. The fee is between 84 and 133.8 RON, around 25 to 40 U$D http://www.posta-romana.ro/services/tarrif/co … ernationale_103. Slow delivery, W/O insurance.
You would be better off if you find such a case in neighbouring countries.

Do not understand me wrong, if you want it I will send it to you. I just wanted to tell you about the postal fees.

Malik if you already have AT power supply so why don't you use a normal atx case with it?

@filloraurus : Some GAMES that I buy from US are shipped at that cost. Yes, those are with insurance. The amount you mentioned is ok with me. I think I'll take a look at your pictures before deciding.
(Don't worry about your picture qualities. All the pictures I posted in this forum are taken with my phone.)

@robertmo : The only AT power supply I have is now not functioning. But with the help of ATX-to-AT converter cable, I now can use any ATX power supply. All I look for in the newer ATX PSUs are the -5v rail for use with my LAPC-I. For example, my classic Pentium 133 system is using a Cooler Master 550W (!!!!) ATX PSU. I can use it with my other more contemporary setups if need be. The only PSU that I have that does not have the -5v rail is my main Q9300 system's CM 850W PSU, which is mainly there for my Geforce 9800GTX SLI, when in SLI mode.

And regarding the need for AT case,

1.) For the presence of the LED (and/or the special etched space for the LED showing the classic 16, 20, 33, 66MHz....etc...😀)

2.) The Turbo button which will be connected to the motherboard and the LED, reflecting the turbo up or down mode.

3.) Hard Power Switch.

4.) Ready to use AT-style keyboard connector opening.

5.) For proper alignment of the expansion cards. Most ATX cases can't allow proper facing of the expansion cards at the rear. Even if able to do this, there is also the problem of fixing the motherboard on the case's base. The postions of the screw holes are different.

6.) For the Retro Feel. Nostalgia. Etc. 😀

Ok, I finally got over my lazyness, removed the various thingies which sat atop the case and snapped several pictures. Now I have to find a way to sent them to you.
Best methods I can think about are mail attachments or Yahoo Messenger file transfer.

😁 Sorry for the delay, but I already mentioned I am lazy and disorderly 😊
And needed natural light; my phone makes incredibly bad pictures in artificial light.
So, due to health issues I did not go to work today, had nice natural light so I could make some semi-decent pictures.

Whoa! No need to take so much trouble! It's alright. I've been busy lately too and didn't do much tinkering lately. Been busy professionally, and been busy playing Street Fighter 3 Alpha head to head with my best friend during the Chinese New Year Holidays recently!

I have also requested few ebay sellers and found one who's willing to send over the chassis. The shipping cost is still prohibitive but it's a new casing. Anyway, let's see how thing goes...

EDIT : You can simply post the pictures right on this very page. (Resize your pictures to 800x600 or 640x480). You can also zip them all up after resizing and directly upload here itself. In case I'm not buying, others reading here might be interested too! (Where else to post this kind of advertisement,eh? 😀)

Warned you about the bad quality photos made with my phone.
😁 Please do not make jokes about the toothbrush... It's quite useful to clean computer boards.

Hey, the chassis is surprisingly in very good condition! It's nice. Unfortunately I'm looking for one with the LED display and the turbo button. Anyway, I hope others looking for it may get it.

Sorry for all the troubles you've taken to take and post the pictures! 😅

Thanks!

P.S. The pictures are not bad! Have you seen some ebay sellers' photos? Like a seller called newsgroups? 😉

I have it since '01, housed my main computer for a couple of years and now serves as testbed for AT motherboards. If I am satisfied with a particular configuration, I put it in another of my 2 simple, no LED display, AT minitowers. I like it for its easy access to ISA/PCI/AGP cards.
Although I am a smoker, the plastic face is in surprisingly good condition, no yellowing.

Somewhere on the Belgium-Netherlands border, I've got a couple of AT minitowers and one AT bigtower that I want to throw away, unless there's someone who wants to collect them for free. Unfortunately, I'm not going through the hassle to ship it to Malaysia.
