Folks,

I've been trying Hardball III recently, and I found timing your bat is very easy in training mode. All I have to do is wait until the ball is about at the same level with the batter's head, and then punch Enter. Such thing usually guarantees contact.

Things, however, is much different during the actual play (even in Exhibition). Timing the bat proves much more difficult, and even if the ball is on the same level with the batter's head, it doesn't guarantee a hit.

Worse, I cannot adjust training's difficulty level to match that of actual game.

So, any tips or hints in order to make contact with the ball during a game? Also, how about pitching?

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

hard to say before he posts. For example copy protection may not work on some system. But yes you are right lets stick to the rule the least info the more challenge. He should edit his post to just "Help! It dosn't work!" That would be a challenge. Happy helping him Davros.

no, but posting irrelevant info is a bit pointless,

If I asked "how do I pickpocket people in oblivion" or " how do i use aim-7 missles in lomac" and someone asked me my system specs I'd come to the conclusion that they hav'nt understood my question.

in what way your two posts helped solving the problem? And I guess you already know the solution cause you are stopping others from helping?

It has nothing to do with copy protection, I entered the codes correctly.

Uh, I am already using Dosbox.

MSI Wind U100, Intel Atom Processor, 2GB of RAM, Windows XP Home. I don't think it matters when asking gameplay-related advice though.

isn't it enough to seletct all available pitch types and select random pitch location in practise option? I don't see any difficulty difference then between practise and exhibition.

I have tried that too, but I still see difficulty differences between practice and exhibition (let alone league). Either that, or maybe I'm just not practicing enough 🙁

I have to admit that this is my first baseball game. I usually don't play sports games, until a friend sold me his DOS game collection.

By the way, how much do player's statistics matter when selecting batting option? Maybe I just keep failing because I don't pay much attention to statistics?

maybe try more cycles to gain more fluency. i think during training game may be more fluent as there are less elements on the screen.
It is also my first baseball play 😉

Maybe I should skip training and grit my teeth through exhibition anyway. 🙁

Well, but who knows, some weeks ahead, I'll be the one who posts hints and strategies! 😀
