I picked this board up a couple weeks ago, as a gamble of sorts. It looks pretty decent, but it came without any sort of documentation, so I've been trying to figure out exactly what it is.

I haven't powered it up yet since I haven't figured out the jumper settings (my main concern is voltage, I don't know if it auto-selects, and I don't want to fry the CPU)... I was kinda hoping somebody here might know where to find a manual for it, to save me some effort in that regard. TH99 and Mobokive have turned up nothing.

What I know about it is, it's a very late VLB board, made toward the end of 1995. The G486UVL-Z model number seems to point to either Tekram or Jointech... but there's no manufacturer marking on it anywhere, just the model number and a "Made in Taiwan" sticker. It doesn't look to be the usual crappy PCChips clone board, at least.

So.... any ideas?

No FCC-ID sticker? That would help...

I reckon it's a Joindata Systems board. Joindata 486 boards seem to have had names like G486EVL, G486HVL, G486SVL. The letter before the VL seems to be the initial of the chipset, eg. SVL is Symphony. That would fit with it being G486UVL indicating UMC chipset. Presumably VL indicates "vesa local" or some such. Can't find any reference to it though.

Nope, the only marking on it that isn't visible in the picture, is a serial number/ date code sticker on the back.

Also, I said it wrong earlier, ratfink has it right, I meant JoinData, not Jointech. Actually, I'm about 75% sure it's from either them or Tekram, and I was strongly leaning toward Joindata.

But... even that much information doesn't really do me much good. Knowing the manufacturer is nice, but it still doesn't tell me anything about the board itself. Not like I can really call up Joindata and ask for a manual, anymore...
